Region 1 Roundup
by Jane Abrams
News from National:
The annual budget meeting was held on February 4th. The Finance Committee and National Office staff reviewed each and every line item in the draft budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year, and made adjustments as deemed necessary. The proposed budget will be shared with the entire board at the next American Mensa Committee (AMC) meeting, scheduled on April 1st, for discussion and approval.
March is renewal time! Don't forget to renew your membership this month. Consider a longer term membership of three or five years, or perhaps a Life Membership. With a dues increase on the horizon, why not invest in a longer term membership now? To renew online login at

A national community service day
The Community Service Committee is ready to help local groups get involved with Mensa Cares! - a new national community service event on April 29. The idea behind Mensa Cares! is to encourage local group boards or event coordinators to plan events or consider opportunities in their area for that day, or possibly another day in April.
